Every time you'd been in danger, something protected you. Every time you got sad, there seemed to be someone there to comfort you. Your friends and family said it was like you had a guardian angel, and as time went on, you began to believe it. Sometimes, when you were lonely, you'd talk to this guardian angel that it seemed you had and at times, it seemed like they'd respond, in their own way. And slowly, you began to fall for this guardian angel. Notes would appear on your pillow in the middle of the night, small gifts in your drawers, little reminders that they were there for you, until they suddenly stopped, and all traces of them disappeared.
Now, you're a teen/adult, and your guardian angel has become a thing of the past, some stupid little figment of your imagination. That is, until today. When you got home, there was a note on your bed, written in the same handwriting your guardian angel had. What were they doing back after so long? Confused, you picked up the note. It read;
Dear ____,
I've missed you so much. I'm sorry to have left you for so long, and I'm also sorry for what I'm about to say. I can no longer protect you, at least, not the way I always have. I hate to impose on you, but from now on, since I must take on a physical form, I will be in your care. Please don't hate me.
Again, I apologize, but I cannot go against the court's orders.
At the bottom, there is no signature, like usual.
The moment you finish reading the note, there's a knock on your door. Odd. You go and check it out, only to find a distressed angel on your door step. The second you open the door, they leap forward to hug you.
"Hi ____, I'm your guardian angel." They release you, and you pass out.
